About Us
Our Mission: Santa Fe Community gardens promotes local gardening and food growing by offering Santa Fe County residents garden space, resources, and education and by facilitating community partnerships.
Our Vision: We envision a Santa Fe that enjoys local food security, where residents have access to affordable organic produce, and where the fruits of the harvest are shared with those in need. We envision a community that knows where its food comes from, that maximizes available space for food production, and whose children understand the joy and importance of nurturing the soil.
To that end, Santa Fe Community Gardens hopes to create thriving garden spaces in the City of Santa Fe. Our community gardens will include plots for individual gardeners, communal vegetable and perennial beds, and fruit trees for all to enjoy. We plan to garden sustainably, which means organic gardening methods, attention to long term soil health, and responsible water use. We also hope to provide educational programs for the public, work with schools to teach children how to grow food, and create community spaces such as greenhouses, a community canning center, and a seed bank.
